A Fair City for Everyone

Lawrence is tremendously diverse, and all people deserve to have their voices heard and their cultures respected.

Whether involving topics such as city employment, housing development, educational opportunities, vendor selection, events planning, awarding of contracts, or access to parks and facilities, (to name just a few) every decision I make will take into consideration the central themes of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility – all as parts of my thought process. I will seek advice and participation in this effort from minority business, faith, organizational and not-for-profit leaders. I will never operate in a way that is non-reflective of the community. 

BIPOC participation that reflects the composition of Lawrence is essential to an open community. My administrative team will reflect the diversity of Lawrence, which is now and will continue to be an inclusive and welcoming city for everyone. I have a long, proven history of promoting diversity and fairness, spanning my entire career in all positions of leadership.
